These subjects like all truthful things
cut across the lake with their sails up.
They are poignant
and you can not keep your eyes
upon them for long.
Soon enough you will need to glance away
exhale, tap your ash

And after all, the world is great for light relief
let’s laugh at the crazy fools who decide to swim
Beneath the flowering mountains
nothing looks more absurd than human determination
